We are very excited and proud to be adding our first poodle into our home, a black standard girl! We are in the process of learning dog genetics, health issues, showing, obedience, pro-grooming, etc. Our girl is only 10 months at this time and will not be bred until at least 2 years of age and only after passing health examinations and being evaluated and found to be breeding quality, hopefully potential show prospect. If she does not pass in either health or quality, we plan to get another female at a later time and continue from there.
We plan to raise and show quality, dual registered (AKC and UKC) Standard poodles in black, white, brown, red, blue, and silver/silver beige in either the solid or parti color pattern (perhaps even sable). We will not have ANY merle or brindle poodles here, as their origin is questionable. At a later time we may choose to raise minis or toys also, but we will NOT breed for teacups! Teacups are usually not healthy (and therefore not happy) dogs. Breeding any animal/breed for money is unacceptable and there is no other reason (IMO) to be breeding those poor tiny dogs. Normal toys are small enough!
